​우리가 올린 수많은 가정 동물들의 특징이 전이 학습되어 생성된 생물체들의 눈은, 우리가 어떠한 생태적 환경에 둘러싸여 있는가를 역설적으로 생각하게 한다.

The eyes of the creatures, which were created by transfer learning from the features of many of the domestic animals we have posted, are a paradoxical reminder of the ecological environment we are surrounded by.

방대한 멸종위기종의 트레일 카메라 푸티지와 합성 데이터셋을 기반으로 기계학습을 진행하며 작가들은 데이터셋에는 존재하지 않는 ‘가정 동물의 눈’을 가진 존재들이 생성되는 것을 목격한다. 인간이 수없이 업로드한 가정 동물들의 통계적 형상이 인공지능(구글 AI)에 상속되어 전이 학습된 결과물일 이 인간 친화적 눈을 가진 생물들은, 역설적이게도 우리가 마주하고 있는 생태적 조건과 인간의 비인간에 대한 식민성을 상기시킨다.

Through machine learning results based on vast endangered species' trail camera footage and synthetic datasets, the artists witness the creation of beings with "domestic animal eyes" that do not exist in the datasets. The result of transfer learning from the statistical shapes of vast amount of domestic animals uploaded by humans to Google AI, these creatures with human-friendly eyes paradoxically remind us of the ecological conditions we face and our colonization over non-human beings.
